Artist statement: Using a pinhole rather than a modern high-tech lens allows me to make softly focused, saturated colour views of the world around me. The pinhole camera allows me to “photograph what can’t be photographed” and puts the surprise back into my work, much like processing my film used to. Wanting the feeling of surprise and magic to be reflected in my work, I also blacked out the little screen on the back of my camera.
