Exposure I’ve too many thoughts to pin anything down. I’ve left orange halves out for the birds, but they shun the offer. Two right whale calves were spotted off the east coast last week. Sometimes the balance tips towards good. And still the way you look through me has creased me. A photographer in England left a makeshift pinhole camera to watch the world for 8 rolling years, recorded the sun as it rose and set 2,953 times. My eyes watch the dark windows for tonight’s predicted snow. My iris invites the slightest light. Tomorrow, the snowy field will lie quietly, exposed to the sky. The birds I envy won’t even leave prints.
