COURTNEY BATES-HARDY
Lavender Marriage
A lavender garden in England,
marriage still a maze,
stems knee high.
We wander the country,
violet fields in PEI, carry
a spray back home.
A lavender latte on my desk
after a fight, floral taste
on my tongue.
Purple buds in our garden,
I seed, she weeds, we
take turns watering.
Dried tendrils in my deck:
two, then three of cups,
the world.
