ARTIST STATEMENT / These two pictures of trees overgrown with ivy are from the island I live on. I made them in December last year, during a period of convalescence when I took not-so-long walks. I found these trees with ivy fascinating, their own leaves were gone but the ivy was still green as some kind of reminder. But I also know that the ivy is a kind of parasite, that will slowly kill the tree it grows on.
