ARTIST STATEMENT / Pinhole photography allows me to explore the intricacies of our relationship with memories. The camera’s soft focus and long exposures create worlds subtly blurred, echoing the way memories often soften and shift over time. These are not literal snapshots, but emotional landscapes where past and present converge.
I’m drawn to scenes that evoke a sense of childlike wonder – discovering things for the first time and revisiting that openness to possibility. By capturing these moments with a pinhole camera, I aim to transcend the specific and delve into universal emotions not bounded by age. The process itself becomes a form of meditation, a way to reconnect with the simple joys and complexities of that time.
The resulting photographs are an invitation for viewers to immerse themselves in the feelings of their own memories, and to appreciate the enduring influence of our past experiences.
