DANIEL Cartwright-Chaouki
Chasm
the distance between the fly over and
the high rise flats the silence between spotify
tracks in the car the great yawning yawn
the mercury in your molars
scattered everywhere grains of rice
or chicken feed or memory loss the cavity
beneath the whale bone of your chest
the organs pulled through
the pinholes pierced in your skin the space
between us is ruined ash blows about like
fragments of old black and white films
the homeless rattle teeth in a cup
smiling adverts peel from the boarded up
facade where our agency used to be who
did this to us? who stole our sleep
and took it so far away?
